So I have finally done it. I have finally opened up the video tutorials that I have been talking so much about. I have called my program The WordPress Classroom. It has videos about setting up the blog all the way through installing various plugins and hiding affiliate links.

All of the videos are not done yet so I will upload more as they are finished. I just wanted to get this online and going so people can have access to them now. I know a lot of people from Alex Jeffrey’s course will get great use from these.

Please give me your feedback in the comments below!

Hello Matt,

Thanks for this videos you made. I need to upgrade my 2 WP blogs and put tweeter links on them. On one WP article I read, you cannot just upgrade an older version (2.6.2) without saving files or backing up. This is where I am stuck before I can upgrade. Can you help or do you have a video on this? Not sure if this was discussed in our forum at Alex’s.

Thanks,

Richard Trent

Install the plugin called WP-DB-Backup on your blog. Make a backup and then go ahead and upgrade. I have never had a problem losing anything on my blog with an upgrade. It’s just a precautionary measure and you, most likely, have nothing to worry about.

Hi Matt,

I’m a newbie to blogging so I’ve found the WordPress classroom videos very useful in helping me begin to set up my blog. I have a few suggestions & questions:-

1. How about a video called “Dashboard tour” giving a brief tour of the wordpress dashboard. I’ve spent quite some time just gettting to know the dashboard, understanding where everything is and figure out what it’s purpose is. Placing it just before the “Installing a Free Theme” video makes sense to me. What do you think?

2. How about a video called “Recommended Plugins” giving a list and a brief description of what each one does possibly with a blog example where applicable. What do you think?

3. Will there be a video about the Akismet plugin and how you configure it to stop spam?

4. Will there be videos about configuring the side bars to add images, Aweber opt-in boxes, removing the META list etc?

5. I notice your blog has sidebar lists such as ‘popular posts’, ‘recent posts’, ‘top commentators’, ‘more amazing blogs’. Will there be videos about configuring these or other lists of your own choosing?

6. Will there be a video on how to change the header & tag line text size or added in a new header image?

Hope this feedback is of help and look forward to seeing your reply.

John Blake

Hey John,
Thanks so much for all the great ideas! I hadn’t planned on making a “Dashboard Tour” type video but, now that you suggested it, I think it’s a great idea. As far as the rest of your suggestions, they will all be included in my upcoming WordPress Classroom 2.0. I have about 55 videos total that will be included in version 2.0 and more than 100 videos total for version 3.0. When everything is said and done, my class will be designed to turn any WordPress newbie in to a total expert that knows how to edit their own php code and tweak every aspect of their blog. It will be completely comprehensive.

Thanks for commenting and thanks for the suggestions. I will keep you posted with the updates!

Hey Matt,

Just stopping by to introduce myself. We have something in common. We both have Alex Jeffreys as our mentor. I was in his first coaching program.

I see you have made several videos on how to setup a blog. Nice job. I’m sure some of your fellow students will be thankful for that because a lot of them will need help.

Good Luck with your coaching.

Fantastic job brother!

You should now think of back-end offers to incorporate with this as a type of “up-sell” sort of like our PPP.

You could use the same template and have this course be your “Free Download” similar to our eBook!

Here to help!

Hey Matt

What a great product and offer you have for everyone. As you know by now, I had an issue getting Alex’s list building image and optin on my blog. I went into our forumn and was told to look at the video of adding an optin to your sidebar. I like the step by step instructions and I was able to install what I wanted the first time using your product. If you go to my site, you will see it there just wanting for traffic.

I also want to comment on your video in Amazon. Thanks for sharing that information and I do agree with you that a video will make a person unique and people will focus their attention on “YOU” the expert in that field.

Thank you and thank you

Roger Neumann

Go out and make it a successful day! :-)

Hello Matt,
I just finished watching the first new video about traffic and getting name recognition and it was amazing. Gave me some great ideas.

Not sure if I am ready to make a video, but you really are on to something there.

My only concern is that I need for you to not spread the good advice to everyone – I have only just started and would like to have an edge for making a tiny income first, please. :)

There’s a long way to go, but I am going to be successful online and WPC is really helping – thanks for great ideas for traffic – something we all need.

Keep up the good work and I’ll keep you posted on my success.
