You Will Need To Do This To Grow Your Business
As many of you may already know, I work very closely with a good friend of mine named Josh Bartlett. Josh and I probably have about three to four brainstorming / mastermind type calls each week. A few days ago we were talking and it hit us, “why don’t we start recording some of these calls and share them with others?” Well that’s exactly what we’ve decided to start doing.
Yesterday, Josh and I had a pretty in depth discussion about something that everyone needs to implement in their business. You may not need this immediately… But at some point, you will find that you can no longer grow unless you follow the advice in this call.
Anyway, I’ve posted the call below. There’s nothing for sale, I’m not looking for opt-ins and you can feel free to download it and share it with whoever you want. It’s just pure content and nothing more. The call lasts a little less than 40 minutes and we drop some really good tips at the end. By good tips, I mean NOBODY else is doing this yet.
So check out the call and please leave your comments. Your feedback has been amazing and I love to hear what you think about this stuff.
After leaving a comment, head on over to Josh Bartlett’s blog at JoshBartlettBlog.com. Josh is one of the good guys. The topics discussed in my last post where the result of a previous call with Josh. We’ve definitely got similar philosophies about how to treat people and how to ethically market to people.

Matt,
Thanks for the great tips about starting your business in the right way.
It’s funny because after buying your APCF I’m going to be leveraging other people’s time to do some of the things that I don’t really want to be doing (like entering JV Giveaways etc.)
Also just finished paying someone to create a professional looking site for me (squeeze plus product graphics)
The timing of this call is crazy for me. (…but I’m ont surprised because just started reading “The Secret” for the second time and the same sort of stuff happened the first time I read it. Saw that book on your recommendation too. I love this stuff!…)
Thanks to you and Josh for the call and congrats on your success.

Nathan

Awesome Nathan! JV Giveaways is one of those things that I don’t personally do myself anymore either. I have a VA sign me up for them. And I can’t do graphics myself… I always hire that out.
I’m glad you enjoyed the call.
Talk to you soon,
Matt
Matt,
Really enjoyed your call with Josh.
The techniques you shared in some specific outsourcing areas were simply brilliant..thanks for that.
I do appreciate that I have to get my business foundations in place correctly but I also faced the age old problem of not having money/resources to pay to outsource what I know I should not be doing myself!
So I just had to “bite the bullet” on this. Both your ACF program and my current Alex Jeffreys MWA program gave me the systems to use…and only recently did I realize that outsourcing is essential not just for established guys like you and Josh but also for new guys like me wanting to get more established.

Hey Peter,
Thanks for the comment. You are absolutely right. It is important to leverage other people’s skills right from the beginning. If there’s something you can’t do on your own, find someone that can help you out. You don’t always need to pay them in cash either. Work out deals that are mutually beneficial so that you can move forward. Even at the early stages, this is very important.

Hi Matt
Great Call.
It’s really nice to see successful Internet Marketers speak openly about how they don’t have particular skills in various areas of Internet Marketing like creating their own graphics or writing their own sales copy.
Its especially hard for newbies to do everything by them selves. This call was really useful for beginners who are starting out and letting them know that how they leverage their time is so important in this business.
Again great call.
Hey Tommy,
You are definitely right. Even when people are first starting out, they can began leveraging other’s skills. There’s no reason to wait until you are making big money because you can find other ways to trade for services other than just by paying cash.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Matt
Hi Matt and Josh,
Thank you for the valuble information, unfortunatly I am one of those people that has to work in my business, I cant wait untill I am lucky enough to have the same sort of problems that you have, I will keep this information at the ready for when I do have.
All the best,
“Wolfie” (Wolfgang)
Hey Wolfie,
You really don’t need to wait until your business is bigger to begin leveraging the skills of others. Simply find other things that you can offer in exchange for their services. Teach people how you do something in exchange for their help, offer to write articles in exchange for help, offer reciprocal links from your websites in exchange for services. You don’t always need to pay people in cash for their services. Ofter times, people prefer other means of payment.
Congratulations on getting moving. Letting go of some tasks is when you really see things grow exponentially.
Thanks so much for commenting!

Hey Matt,
good stuff. Thanks to you and Josh for putting this audio together for free admittance.
I also enjoyed your APC. I actually bought it before the big product launch…I think from the warrior forum if I remember. It was good stuff.
I know it can be discouraging dealing with negative comments also about products, etc, but you are doing great. Hopefully soon after I finish the rest of AJ’s training…I’ll be there with you.
Take it easy, and thanks again for the audio.
Brandon
PS. My comment luv link is actually a review of your APCF

Hey Brandon,
Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you are enjoying our stuff! Our philosophies have changed and we are going to try to offer more and more of it for free.
The problem with me and my support desk is that I get a whole lot of people who love my stuff and the occasional person who isn’t happy. I tend to dwell on the comments that I get that are negative instead of being happy about the positive ones. I’ve put myself in a position now where my support people only tell me about the positive ones. Now I don’t have to see or hear about the negative stuff. It definitely helps to keep me motivated.
Thanks for the comment,
Matt
Hi Matt,
Thanks for this great call and for aking it available.
Just one question: I downloaded the call but couldn’t load it on to my ipod nor would RealPlayer or Windows Media Player recognise it as an MP3. Maybe the extension went missing. I worked around it by importing it into Audacity and then exporting it as an MP3. Works a treat now
I can’t agree more about outsourcing the stuff I can’t do myself. (I’m still looking for a good graphics person.)
I am a fan of your WordPress Classroom. Great product. An example of what such a product ought to be, at least in my view. I’d love to learn more about how you created it.
Looking forward to more of your products.

Hi Max,
Thanks for commenting. I’m not sure what happened with the Audio. I don’t know if others have had that same problem or not. Thanks so much for the tip on getting it taken care of if they do.
Maybe I will go in to more detail on what type of work goes in to creating something like The WordPress Classroom in a future post. Thanks for the idea!
Matt
Hey Max,
Thanks for looking into that audio issue and sharing a solution. I will check back and look at the file format, we were using a new program to record the call that we are not too used to yet.
Thanks again

Josh Bartlett´s last blog ..My Thank You Video To You Guys (I Share Some Secrets)
Hi Matt
Thanks for the podcast which contains a lot of useful tips to progress with our business.
I am still at the beginning of my career online and at the moment I try to do everything myself and I am afraid to say, I am not getting anywhere fast. The one tip I particular like and will follow up, is to look for specialized skills in the appropriate forum and contact the person whom you are interested in, directly. What a good idea!
I also can understand why it is important to oursource the support desk. All the negativity, I have worked in a Customer Service Department for a few years (never again); people are very quick to complain but very slow to compliment. Another reason to outsource this part of the business but before this happens it must be a very thriving business.
Best wishes.

Hi Claude,
Thanks for your comment. I’m glad you enjoyed the call. Josh’s tip on using forums is absolutely great!
When it comes to finding people to work with you, you don’t always need to pay them in cash. Many times people will trade services for the opportunity to learn from you or in exchange for a different service like article writing or submitting. Get creative and begin working together with people. You’ll find ways to leverage other people’s skills (Even if it’s in exchange for them leveraging your skills).
Thanks again,
Matt
Hi Matt,
I have outsourced some of my stuff but the one thing I simply cannot do is create graphics. I stink at that so I have a found a few good folks who can take that part off my hands.
I believe it’s good for me to know a little about every aspect of building my business including doing the dirty work. But having tried creating graphics, I know about it and that’s all I need to know. I give it to someone who can.
Great post,
Mike
