<description>This post may be a little old, but it&#039;s still very relevent.

Most people would pay good money to have the answers you gave here.

I really don&#039;t have any questions now because you answered them so well and the only thing left is to act on the advice you gave (which I know is solid).

I just wanted to personally thank you for it :)</description>

<description>Thanks Peter! List building has become the largest part of my business. I continue to try to build my own products but, if it wasn&#039;t for my list, I wouldn&#039;t have sold many.

I think that listbuilding is the single most important thing that someone should be doing in internet marketing.

<description>Thanks for the comment Rob! I try to treat my subscribers well. I actually think my subscribers love all the free stuff that I offer them. I think I have a pretty descent retention ratio because I really screen my swaps and what I&#039;ll send to my list. I turn down swaps all the time if I don&#039;t think their product is up to par...

<description>Hey Jeff! Thanks for the question.
I have two gifts that I created that I give away in these events. One of them is the Wordpress Classroom and the other is a video that I created about gaining credibility. I usually do the second upgrade in the giveaways that is slightly less expensive and usually allows for 2 gifts.

I don&#039;t see any reason why results would be any lower if you use someone else&#039;s product. My recommendation with giveaways is to just make sure that your boxshot or your giveaway image looks good and is high quality. People tend to judge the quality (and whether or not they should opt-in) based on the quality of the images.

		<description>Hey David,
I actually send out an e-mail every single day. I hear mixed opinions on this but my list continues to grow. I expect to pass that 2,000 mark by the end of this week.

I line up a lot of adswaps because my readers see them as value. I&#039;m offering them free stuff constantly and they seem to stay on board to see what I might offer next.

I think the real key here is to experiment and track everything. I seem to have the best results by sending everyday.

		<description>Hi Matt

You seem to have REALLY nailed this List Building thing - I just havent given that aspect enough attention which I will have to change when I sink my teeth back into IM.

To hit the $1.50 I would say you must be really doing something right.

Take Care
Pete

		<description>Matt,

Looks like you got the list building thing down pat. Great getting feedback from your readers too.

$1.50 per name. Bucking the trend already.

Probably has something to do with all the TLC you give your group.

Take care, speak soon.

		<description>Hey Matt,

Sounds like you have the list building thing down pretty good.

My question to you is how many products do you use in these giveaways and what are you using for products. I know that to give more than one gift you have to upgrade. As far as the product, I&#039;m not asking you to reveal the name of it I&#039;m just wondering if you created them or purchased them or got them by any other means.

Later,
Jeff Sargent

		<description>Hey Andrew,
Thanks so much for the question! As far as Giveaways go, I tend to upgrade a lot of them. Back when I had a small list of less than 100, I upgraded a Reed Floreen giveaway event and landed 100 new subscribers from that event alone. I did no promotion to my list or twitter page or anything. Just the fact that I had purchased the upgrade, got me tons of new subscribers.

I think the key to JV Giveaways is to upgrade every once in a while AND have a good product image. The image sells the product for you. Once your list is built a little, you can start promoting the giveaways to your list and start participating in adswaps to better leverage that list.

I hope that answers the question. Feel free to post again if it didn&#039;t.
