Diary of a Launch 04/06/10

I know… I know. I said I was going to do more videos on my blog and I am. It’s 1:30 am in San Diego right now as I write this and I don’t want to wake up Alana. Besides, I just felt like typing. My next post will be another video… (Maybe… If I feel like it)

I wanted to give an update about my launch.

As most of you already know, I’m doing my first major launch with my Autopilot Cash Formula. I did launch The WordPress Classroom last year. But that was on a very small scale compared to this.

What I’ve learned so far… Trying to do a major launch is not easy at all. It requires many sleepless nights, lots of conversations with lots of people I don’t know, and flat out working my butt off to make sure things are going to flow smoothly come launch day.

As I get deeper and deeper in to this, I realize that there are a lot of little aspects that I never even thought about coming in to this. There’s so many little tiny details that can so easily be overlooked that could be the difference between a successful launch and a flop. I’m still hoping that I’m not missing any of these points. I don’t know if I can even know until launch day is here.

If you saw my whiteboard right now, I have a massive list of things that I still need to get done between now and this Thursday (The start of prelaunch for my product). Once I clear that list, a new list goes up of all the things that must be completed before launch date on the 15th.

It’s definitely very hectic. I’m running on very little sleep these days because I’m testing and tweaking every little aspect of this launch. I’m responding to every e-mail from every potential affiliate to make sure this launch will be just as successful for them as I hope it’s going to be for me. I’m pulling my hair out staring at html and php code, trying to fix minor bugs and issues.

To be 100% honest… I would not have it any other way!

It’s funny because internet marketers (at least the circle that I run in) are some of the only people I know that will work 80 hours per week to get their business set up so that they can “quit their day job”. Sure, I know methods where I can spend 20 minutes per day and make enough money to not have to work another job. But I love this stuff so much and I am so driven and passionate about growing my business that I obsess over this and spend 75% percent of the time that I’m awake at my computer trying to build upon what I’ve already created.

Yes, The Autopilot Cash Formula will teach you how I’ve made thousands per month with 20 minutes per day. I’m not exaggerating there. But I believe that the people that are truly going to make it far in this business, and that will really rise above the rest, are the people that are happy with the money they can make in 20 minutes per day but are not satisfied stopping there.

I honestly do have days where I spend 20 minutes working and then head out to go snowboarding. I have had days where I’ve gone to the beach with a laptop, finished my work quickly, and spent the rest of the day playing. I want everyone to be able to enjoy that lifestyle.

True internet marketers… The ones that really succeed, however, are the ones that spend 10 hours per day working on their business. Not because they have to, but because they want to.  I absolutely love what I do and sometimes wish there were more hours in the day that I could spend working on building my business.

Anyway, I kind of went off on a tangent there… (It IS almost 2 in the morning here)

My launch looks to be destined for success. I’m not one to count my chickens before they hatch (I think that’s the term) but I am definitely optimistic.

I’m approaching 500 affiliates on board to help me promote this, including a lot of BIG names. I’ve got some of the “gurus” on board to really back me on this.

I hired one of the best copywriters in the business to make sure my sales copy gets people as excited about the product as I am.

I have some of the best prelaunch content I could possibly come up with. Products that I have sold in the past, I’m just giving away to get people excited about the product. I’m basically giving people the first few steps in the process for free just to get them excited about what’s in store.

I’ve been interviewed by several people so that my name is out there and my credibility is growing. (I still have room for a couple more interviews if anyone is interested)

Now I’m in a mode where I’m just doing whatever I can to help affiliates out. I’m taking suggestions for tools, banners, e-mails, etc. so that affiliates have the absolute most potential to succeed. I’ve even given out a bunch of free articles that people can use to submit to article directories to help promote their affiliate link.

I think I’m pretty much leaving no stone unturned with this one.

Anyways, if you have any questions about launching a product, my launch, or tools to help promote as an affiliate, please leave a comment below. I am really loving all of the support that I’ve been getting and I think everyone who is involved with this has the potential to be really successful!

If you haven’t signed up as an affiliate yet, do so here.

Matt …. you’re going to kill it with this launch. 110% sure of that and well done.

I’ll be a buyer and an affiliate — gutted I missed out on your WSO!!

I’d like to say goodluck … but I know that’s got nothing to do with it or your success — you’ve earnt it.

Thanks so much Allen!

I’m looking forward to the launch and I love all the support I’m getting.

I think you really can do well as an affiliate because I think I put so much content in here that it practically sells itself…

I’m getting a little hypey here. Sorry. I’m just really excited about it :)

Hi Matt
JUst started going through your classroom videos to learn more about blogging and to actually see if I could make even one euro online to prove to myself it works!!

I like the way you do not overload us with e-mails all the time just to sell things as I have un-subcribed to many others that do that…but not yours!!

Keep up the good work and I will e-mail you when my first sale comes through!!

All the best

Thanks Mike,
I’m doing my best to try not to overload people. If you get an e-mail from me, I try to do my best to make sure that’s something that you are going to find valuable. I avoid junk. I hate getting it and I’m sure everyone else does too.

Thanks for going through the WordPress videos. I definitely think you are well on your way to making your first $$ online. You are taking action and that’s what most people miss!

Thanks again!

Hey Matt,

Only 500 affiliates? Gee, your launch is going to massive Matt, and nothing more than you deserve.

It is true what you say about the passion internet marketers have in the growth phase, but in launch phase, it seems a case of red bull is in order!

In respect of support for your affilaites, I’m sure you got it covered with all of the tools etc, if I think of something, I will send you a buzz, skype or email. :)

Way to go Matt, looking forward to launch, but I am sure you are too ;) !

Talk soon.

Hope things go well for you. The question is, will your product REALLY help those who buy it build or grow a business, OR, will it mostly put money in affiliates pockets as they promote and sell it at launch time. Don’t mean to sound cynical, but you know how it is in the IM world – so many promotions and promises, but not much substance behind most of them.
Please tell me/us a little more about what to expect.
(I did not see your WSO).
Thanks and good luck. You seem very genuine, I will say that!!!

Matt April 6, 2010 Reply

Hi Tina,
Thanks for the question.

To be 100% honest, most of the products out there in the IM world probably do work in reality. The problem is not enough people take action on the material that they are learning.

I know that my formula works. If the steps are followed and if the customers take the actions that I tell them to take, they will see results.

Due to the fact that my process DOES work, I think affiliates stand to make a lot of money as well. That’s not a bad thing… It means that I think my product sells itself.

Internet marketing is more of a mental game than anything. If people believe they can do it and actually follow through on the information that they are taught, there’s no reason they won’t succeed as well.

I was making less than $100 per month back in July. I had no job and was going to school in the evenings. Here I am 9 months later and finances are no longer a concern of mine.

Money can be made online. Follow through and don’t give up and you will see results. I can guarantee that and I feel like I am proof of that.

Hi Matt,

Timely blog here I must say. I agree with you that in the IM world there is a lot of hype and not a lot of value…even though it is promised. My business partner (Steve King) and I started to build our business with that in mind. We are not going to promote anyone or any product that does not supply a great deal of value.

We are still waiting for our programmer to finish our first joint product and are keeping busy building our blog and e-commerce front end to our members site. Being our new product “Your Affiliates Team” is all about supplying your affiliates with what they need to promote your products, we have to provide the best possible tools for our affiliates when we launch. We’ll even have “how to” videos and guide to help even the newest affiliate members make money.

I got your email about working with us and as soon as my partner comes back next weekend we will coordinate a response to your email. Thanks for your consideration.

Hi Matt – I’ve watched all the videos in the “WordPress Classroom” over and over and still refer to them for refresher on any one topic. As for the “Auto Pilot Cash Formula” that you put out a little while back, I am just now getting to them. And I must say, the ebook and videos are as excellent and those in the “WordPress Classroom”

I know that I will be kicking myself for a very long time for not getting enrolled with the up coming “Auto Pilot Cash formula” launch. But funds in my budge are maxed out and bills still need to be paid on time. If I’m lucky and you decide to run this launch again in the future, I will not hesitate to join.

Hey Jim,
Thanks so much for being a member of the WordPress Classroom. That really means a lot to me and I am glad that you are getting a lot from it.

Thanks for you interest in the Autopilot Cash Formula. I will do my best to keep it open to new members for as long as possible.

Thanks,
Matt

Dave Jackson April 6, 2010 Reply

Matt, you asked for a comment… and I’m following the videos in the course. Did you have a chance to watch Core Influence? There is one part in there that has you go through an exercise of writing down who your typical customer might be and visualizing them.

I thought this would be useful in your videos on writing the follow-up emails.

Thanks again!

Matt April 6, 2010 Reply

Hey Dave,
Thanks for the comment. I have watched the Core Influence video and I have done polls and studies on exactly who my target market is. I think it’s a good idea for any internet marketer to do this.

I think in the beginning, however, it is more important to understand who you are and what you want to teach before diving to deeply in to who you are selling to. This will come eventually.

Focus on what you have to offer people and what valuable content you can create for them. As your list grows and you build up a customer list, you will start to form a better idea of who your target market is. As this happens, you can reshape your processes and your funnels around these people.

In the beginning, when people are first starting out and learning how to make their first dollars online, this information is somewhat irrelevant. New marketers focus too much on research and not enough of just “doing”. Get something going, figure out what your strengths are, make those first dollars, then test and tweak to build a more effective process.

I really appreciate the comment. My future coaching will focus on studying your target market and your ideal prospects. The main idea of the Autopilot Cash Formula is to give action steps that can be taken right now. I don’t want people to overthink things and never get started. I want people to take these steps and start seeing some success right away.

Thanks again,
Matt

It’s so true, man. I haven’t set up and gone through a full-scale launch myself yet, but I have been right there with you and Josh throughout the whole time. I feel like I will be really prepared when I release my own product. I’ll give myself about 3 months :)

It’s funny when people comment on how many hours we work on our business, but we don’t care. We’re doing what we love! I live, sweat and dream about my business ALL THE TIME. (I never thought I’d actually dream about it, but that’s how some of my great ideas have blossomed).

We’ll all be here to support your launch, buddy. I can’t wait to see how it goes! :)

Matt,
I absolutely love your Auto Pilot Cash Formula WSO but I can’t seem get an answer from you because you are so busy. Can you tell me the code you put into your posts on the 2nd copy of WP that is installed on your “listbuilding” folder that creates squeeze pages?

I have done the same but no luck in converting the posts to a squeeze page. Can you provide me with the code to do so and then I will change it to suit my site.

Thanks,
Peter

Hey Peter,
I just replied to an e-mail from you I believe. If you are looking to get ahold me, try using the contact link on any of my websites. It’s the absolute best way to contact me quickly.

As far as your question… What I’m going to do is I’m going to throw in the theme that I use in WordPress to create squeeze pages. Simply install the theme in WordPress and you’ll have the same setup I have. It will be going up in the next couple of days inside the Autopilot Cash Formula members area.

Hope that helps,
Matt

Peter April 6, 2010

Thanks Matt,

I’m sorry to post my questions in this way but I am itching to get started. Thank you very much and I will make contact next time through the contact link. I wish I had a list to send your affiliate product to but I will be promoting it to my list as I build one and on my website when it goes live.

Thanks Again,
Peter

Hi Matt,

I have to note, I’ve purchased both your WordPress Classroom Videos and your Autopilot Cash Formula and all I have to say is WOW! You’ve been an inspiration for me and I’m am very grateful for the value you have provided with your products and your blog.

And I couldn’t agree more about being ok with working 80 hours a week on your business when you are passionate about it. I just recently wrote an article relating to that very topic. When you love what you do, the 80 hours seem like 20.

Great job and I look forward to continuing to promote your products. Keep them coming :-)

Hey Matthew,

Good luck on the launch. Just wanted to let you know…I just made it in to Alex Jeffreys program and I have you, and Josh Bartlett, and Joe Fier, and Massey all to thank for letting me know how successful somebody’s students can be with IM.

I first heard of you from your Autopilot Cash WSO, I bought it, loved it, and have been following you guys since. It’s right up my alley. I’ve been “selling” some of my investing products online for awhile now, Very little monetary success. However, I see that was my problem, I’ve been selling and you guys are all teaching me that is the wrong way.

Good luck on Autopilot Launch. No need to reply back…just wanted to let you know.
