Where Have I Been? 02/15/10

I have been working on so much lately. I feel like I’m still neglecting my blog a little bit, despite the fact that blogging is what got me started in this business in the first place. Anyway, here’s a little recap of what I’ve been up to and what I’ve accomplished…

By the way, thanks so much to everyone who answered my survey. I’ve realized that anyone of those topics are good to discuss on here. I’ve got literally hundreds of ideas for new posts.

Vegas Baby!
In mid-January, I took a trek with Joe Fier and Josh Bartlett up to Vegas. It was Mike Filsaime’s affiliate appreciation weekend and Alex Jeffreys was putting on a seminar. It was an amazing time and we had the opportunity to do some real face to face networking. We were hanging out with the likes of Mike Filsaime, John Reese, ShoeMoney, Joe Jablonski, Russell Brunson, Jason Moffatt, Keith Wellman, Sam Knoll and many more of the biggest names in internet marketing.

We first arrived on Thursday, January 21st and almost immediately met up with Alex Jeffreys for some drinks. We played some poker and then got in touch with David Chamberlain, David Walker, Dean Holland, and Dan Briffa for some more drinks. The next day was the networking event at club Tabu. This is where we met and hung out with some of the biggest names in the game.

Saturday night was the big party. Every internet marketer that I could think of met up at club Lavo in the Pallazzo hotel. This was a huge bash in the VIP section with an open bar of top shelf drinks. I’ll tell you right now that I slept in quite a bit the next morning…

We relaxed a bit on Sunday and then attended day one of Alex Jeffrey’s seminar. There were some good discussions but my favorite presenter had to be Jit Uppal. I really like his presentation because his business model is very similar to mine. It really validated that I was on the right path. Later that evening, we had the opportunity to meet up with all of our pals from the Marketing With Alex class. I’ll list some names but I’m almost sure to miss a few… Marcus Passey, Dean Holland, Adam Spiel, Gary Simpson, Garry Parks, Paul Wilson, David Walker, David Chamberlain, Jean Shaw, Dan Briffa, Marc Milburn, Anthony Smits, and so many more…

Unfortunately, business obligations kept us from attending the second day of Alex’s seminar but we did get the opportunity to network some more with a lot of the people mentioned above later that evening.

All in all, Vegas was an amazing experience… Maybe it was a little long for us but we had a good time, nonetheless. I made a little montage video that I think really shows the “vibe” of the whole Vegas trip. Enjoy. :)

What else has been going on?

That’s a huge question because I’ve been up to a lot! I promoted Josh Bartlett’s Easy Video Player and ended up as number eight on his leader board. I was holding strong at 4th place for a while but got knocked down when the big guns started promoting. I guess it’s not too bad when the people that are above you on the leaderboard are people like Mike Filsaime, Ewen Chia, and Jason Moffatt. Nonetheless, I managed to finish a competition in the top 10 and walk away with a new HD video camera (I shot the video above with it) and an iPod touch. I’m happy about that because it was one of my goals for this year.

I also did a test launch on my latest product called The Autopilot Cash Formula. It’s an eBook and about 25 videos all about my entire business model. I explain pretty much everything that I’ve been doing over the last several months. It goes in to list building, product creation, and exactly how I manage to generate so many leads to an affiliate offer. I wasn’t expecting a whole lot on my test launch but it actually went crazy. The testimonials started rolling in and people started asking how they could promote it as well. Due to this, I decided that I’m going to roll out a full scale launch of this product. It’s going to be complete with lead contest prizes and sales contest prizes. The official launch date will now be April 15th, 2010. So put it on your calendar because it should be a good opportunity to make some money selling a product that converts like crazy. If you want to sign up as an affiliate, here’s the affiliate sign up page. It’s not quite all there yet but you can sign up as an affiliate. More tools will be added as the launch date comes closer.

An unexpected result of the success of The Autopilot Cash Formula test launch is that The WordPress Classroom has gained momentum as well. I haven’t been promoting it but people started buying it again because they wanted to see what else I had to offer. It’s been really amazing. I have now decided that after my full launch of The Autopilot Cash Formula, I’m going to revamp and update all of the videos within the WordPress Classroom. I’ll probably add about 10 more videos based on common questions and boost the price once again. I’ll continue to sell it at the current price for now but I think I could relaunch it at somewhere around $97… We’ll see. I’d love to hear some opinions on this.

Due to the success I’ve been seeing, I went out and upgraded my tools. I bought myself a brand new iMac and a brand new Netbook. The iMac is amazing for editing videos. I have no idea how I ever did video without my Mac now. My Netbook is just perfect for when I’m on the road. I can still respond to e-mails and chat over Skype from anywhere in the world. I feel like I’m really in the modern age now.

Anyway, that’s what’s been going on. I really do have a good sized list of blog posts that will be coming up. I’m going to start getting deeper and deeper in to list building techniques as well as blogging.

Please leave some comments. What would you like to read? Did you go to Vegas? Etc… I want to hear from you!

Yo Matt,

Very cool video and double cool to see the bunch sticking together. You named some big guns with Shoemoney (I am in his program now, Brunson, Filsaime, your buddy Joe and others.

Yea man. It was a great time. I felt very lucky to be in the same room with so many genius marketing minds. Most of them are really cool people too. Very easy to talk to…

I guess you probably wouldn’t make much of a good internet marketer if you didn’t have a personality. After all, isn’t that what this game is all about? Building relationships and trust…

Thanks for the comment.

Just wanted to say I recently purchased ACF and I’m also a WordPress Classroom member. You’ve kinda become my mentor as I like the stuff you do and the way you present it.
Keep up the good work.

Hey Ray,
Shooting the video was really fun and so was editing it. But it was nothing compared to being there and making the face to face connections with people.

I really hope you can make it next year. I’m pretty sure that I will be there…

Thanks for commenting! I really appreciate it.

Hey Matto,

Great video man… that’s like the third time I watched our montage and I’m still cracking up at parts! Vegas was a blast, dude… so many great people, good times, and awesome food.

You’re rockin’ and rollin’ with the APCF and can’t wait to promote that for you. It’s going to take you to the top and help all of us, as well! :)

It looks like you’re getting pretty good with iMovie. It’s about time you joined the family. ;)

See ya buddy,
Joe

iMovie kicks butt! How did I ever edit videos on a PC? I have no idea.

Macs are just better…

Hey Matt! Nice meeting you in Vegas!

Kick ass video! I really need to figure
out how to make videos like that…

Apparently I have all the tools on my
MacBook Pro but unfortunately I don’t
know exactly how to use them :(

Looking forward to hearing more about
your upcoming projects and blog posts!

You should pull up iMovie on your Mac and just start playing with it. Everything is so simple, the learning curve is tiny…

Hey Matt,

That’s a cool video – Vegas was a-maz-ing!

I remember you saying you’ve never watched CSI but the first backing track you are using is the theme tune for CSI:New York.

Would have been an incredible coincidence if you had picked another song by The Who, “Who Are You”, which is the theme tune for the Vegas franchise of the show.

But… enough nerding it up from me ;-)

Looking forward to your product launch, if the WSO is anything to go by you are going to clean up at the end of March.

It’s the motivation I need to get my upsell ebook finished before I even contemplate the members site…

Speak to you soon.

Hey David,
Glad you liked it! BTW, I never said that I’ve never seen CSI… I just haven’t seen many of them. It’s just not a show I normally watch. In fact, I don’t normally watch TV. :)

Anyway, I think it should be a good launch! I’m really looking forward to it.

Hey Matt – You sure have been busy. I signed up for Autopilot Cash Formula because your WordPress Classroom videos were so helpful. I learn so much better by watching videos than reading how to do something. I only have a list of 3 at the moment, but I would love to promote it when you launch. I should have more on my list by then. =)

Take Care – Heidi

Hey Matt,
I was at Alex’s class in Vegas in Jan – what the heck, how come I don’t remember meeting you?? I must of been blinded by the Vegas lights! Wish we could have chatted. Anyway keep up the great work. I partnered with another student from the class (Glen Wayne), so we’re just startin this business, but looking forward to the ride. Visit my site and comment if you can – I did a quick review of the class, with a few pictures. Will meet you personally soon next time.

Hi Matt,

I was in Vegas just for Alex’s Workshop and somehow I missed meeting you and a few of your buddies there. That really bothers me.

There’s always a next time and when it comes I’ll try to meeting everybody that I missed this time.

Anyway, I’m glad I still met a good number of students and Alex J. When I was there the weather was sunny except the day I was leaving.

Your video while good seems to have a lot of rain in it.

I agree with you about the Mac versus PC.

Hey Vance,
It’s a bummer I missed you…

As far as the rain, we actually went out on the Thursday before the AJ event to attend Mike Filsaime’s event. On the drive out there, we went through crazy rain and snow. The first couple of days we were in Vegas it rained like crazy. It finally cleared up about Saturday think…

I’m signing up as an affiliate and will be aiming to get on the leader board. Congrats on being in the top 10 for Josh’s launch.
My best position on a launch is 50th, so a lot of room for improvement..

Thanks

Hey Matt,

Great to see how far you’ve come since the start of MWA 2.0!! Seriously well done dude!

Your videos are great…I’ve just started making them for my site and I’m pretty pleased with how they’ve turned out for a beginner – I certainly had fun making the underwater part of the welcome vid!

I was wondering if you would share some pointers on the production side. I’ve got an HD camera but seem to loose a bit of quality when importing it into camtasia (I combine footage with screen capture) and then loose a lot when making the file to export into you tube.

Maybe a Matt’s 7 steps to quality video production PDF ;-)

Was good to say hello in Vegas recently, hope to share a beer and speak more at another event sometime.

Hey Rob,
It was good meeting you. :)

As far as video, I just got a Mac. It makes video sooo easy. I just use Screenflow to record the screen and iMovie to do the editing. I don’t really have many tips. I just play around with iMovie for hours on end until stuff looks cool :)

Thanks for the comment! I appreciate the kind words!

Hi Matt,
I came to comment about a wordpress classroom video and landed here – watched the Vegas video and I guess you had to be there ;)

The only thing you left out was the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign – that’s my favorite part.

I also noticed that the Internet Marketing world seems to be very male dominated…..

Well, I am headed over to WPC to comment on the newest lesson which I really appreciate.

I think video is the way of the blog – my heroes Burt Goldman and Bob Proctor have been using videos to great advantage and it is more fun to listen and watch than to just read.
