Contest Time! Who Wants Free Stuff? 07/29/09

If you are already on my mailing list than you probably already know that I am planning on releasing The WordPress Classroom 2.0 this coming week. The new version has actually been renamed The WordPress Classroom Pro but, nonetheless, it is being released this coming week!

In anticipation of the release of this new product, I wanted to create a contest here on my blog. It will be really simple to enter and there will be three winners! I will have one grand prize winner and two runners up. The grand prize winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Amazon.com AND a lifetime membership to The WordPress Classroom Pro. The two runners-up will both receive free lifetime memberships to The WordPress Classroom. This is over $200 in value that I am giving away for completing two simple tasks!

Here are the rules:
Step 1: Make sure that you are on my mailing list. I will announce the winners through the mailing list. To sign up for my mailing list, use the box that you see in the right sidebar or at TheWordpressClassroom.com. This will keep you updated with what’s new on MatthewWolfe.com and with The WordPress Classroom. You will also receive 15 free WordPress video tutorials right off the bat! So make sure you are on that list because you can’t win if you aren’t!

Step 2: Comment on this post! I don’t want just any random comment though. I want to hear two things from you. First, I want to know why you think you should win. I am selling tutorials that will teach you how to create a blog and generate a passive income with that blog. How will learning this information affect you and your lifestyle? The second thing that I want you to tell me is; what is it about WordPress that you still need to learn? What do you want to learn or what has been the thing that you have struggled most with? I intend to address the answers to any questions that I receive here in future updates of The WordPress Classroom.

If you don’t win, don’t feel too bad. I am going to be offering special bonuses and deals to members of my mailing list. Some of the bonuses include free custom wordpress themes, early access to the new WordPress Classroom, and discounts on current and future products. Trust me! You want to be on that mailing list!

So make sure you sign up for the list and answer my two questions. Why do you want free access to tons of WordPress Videos that will create a passive income AND what is number one question you have about wordpress?

Good luck to everyone!

hi matt the reason i want to win your competition is i would like to have my blog look as though i mean business for example when visitors come to my blog i would want them to think wow this guy is learning and passing on great information .
i am not hiding the fact that i want to monetize my blog and to do it i need people first to come to my blog and second to gain trust and stay and read the content, and watch the videos.
keep them interested so i can interact with them.
secondly i would like to know how rss feeds work like feedburner i have it on my blog but i dont know (A) what is does
(B).how to set it up and (c) how to use it.

Hi Matt

When I joined your WordPress Classroom mailing list I did it without any expectations. I was surprised that you presented wordpress in a user friendly manner that I was able to do some things following your instructions without undue difficulty. Prsenting by means of videos is a lot clearer and can be followed smoothly as compared to following instructions in a book. I can sense that you are serious in teaching other people how to use wordpress.

I would like to know how to place banners for a few products I would like to promote ~ how we can attach and leveraged rss, and twitter in our blogs.

Thank you so much for your great work and good luck in the launch!

Hi Matt
I should win your competition because I need and want my blog to be as eye catching and professional looking as it can be. With wordpress that can be a reality not just a dream. There is a fine line between professional looking and over the hill tacky looking. What I have discovered is wordpress is in the professional arena. Thanks Matt, stay in that arena.

One item I am having issues with now is changing the size of font on the blog in tag lines and working with images on sizing and appearance. If there was a widget that had a mini photoshop touchup built in, our images could be enhanced.

Thanks for your good work and keep on keepin on!

Roger Neumann

Go out and make it a successful day! :-)

Hi Matt,

Here are my answers

1) Although I have created a blog, I wouldn’t say I am creating a passive income from it so that is why I would like to win. I would like to prove to other people that this can be done and then help them to succeed to.

2) I think I would like to know the best widgets to include, and the general layout that works best. Two or three column, should I have advertising like Google adsense. Are latest visitor displays good where should it the page? What should be above the fold?

Hey Matt,

A friend and I are currently in the process of making a blog and we didn’t know the first thing about creating a blog. Your wordpress classroom was already a huge help with giving us the basics. I would like to win because We need all the help we can get to put this website together on a budget.

As for what I would like to learn, that’s a tough question because I’m not exactly sure what I actually know so I can’t really pinpoint one or two things that I’m dying to know. As you can see, we need quite a bit of help.

Hi Matt,
How are you doing? You are doing some great work on your videos. This is much appreciated by the people like me who are just starting out on this road To try to learn the ins & outs of the Internet Marketers. As for your two questions? I am not sure I can answer them. Why do I think I should win? Umm? I don’t think I should! I am doing this for many reasons; I need to prove to myself I am capable of doing this, yes of course with your help. But the point is for me I need to prove to my so called friends I can do this. If I can make $1.00 then I can make $10.00 then in time $20.00 and so on. I gave my Job up to become self employed June 2008, now we have the recession So not much work about to say the least. So the income would be very usefull with out a doubt. But for me its a personal thing, I need to prove to myself and every one else I can do this. If I can acheive that goal I can then Help others do the same.
Now Word Press, well where does one start? I find the whole concept difficult to get my head around! If it were a normal web site – then may be it would be easier to follow but you have to load different wigets and plugins for every thing. This I found very confusing to begin with. There are still things I want to change but Not sure if it’s possible or how to go about it!! I think the simple basics that other’s know and it is assumed we all know – hold me up because I don’t neccessarily know them.
ok, Best of Luck to you all.

Regards Steve.

Hey Matt
As always you have such great information and the WordPress Classroom videos have helped me a great deal already and I truly want to thank you for that.

Honestly I feel like I have won already. I have been searching online, like everyone else, for a legitimate way to be successful in my online business. I have spent countless hours wading though all those quick rich schemes and really got tired of them. I finally found a person that is totally into helping people be successful. I just want to thank you Matt for being that person. I also want to give thanks to the people I have connected with on your site as they have been very helpful also.

My goal is to be successful in my online business. Everyone?s degree of success is different and I know I am not going to make a million over night. If I could just make a little passive income I would feel very happy. My ultimate goal would to be able to make enough money to quit my full time job and work from home. If I could be successful in that way by using WordPress Classroom I believe it will totally change my life and lifestyle. It would give me great joy to be able to work from home and be my own boss and to be able to spend more time with my family.

There are still many things I would like to learn on WordPress. I would like to learn about learn about Search Engine Optimization. What is index, follow index, no follow noindex, follow noindex, nofollow? What does that mean and how do I use it? I currently don?t use it at all. I could barely type it. I guess the number one thing I would like to learn about WordPress would be how to use keywords properly in posts and how to properly place affiliate links. Those are just a few of the things I would like to learn on WordPress Classroom.

I would really like to take my blog to the next level and with WordPress Classroom 2.0 I believe I can.

I wish everyone success in there online adventure. I hope that someday I can help people as Matt has helped me.

Hey Matt,

GREAT competition you have here, i think that you are providing a really great prize. Not only the gift card (which I can think of some great books I would buy with it!) but also with the lifetime membership, thats a lot of monthly payments saved ;)

I think I should win because I would say that even though I know about WordPress I still have alot to learn, I know I could learn what I need from you and your videos. Also, I dont usually enter competitions but this one would be awesome for me to win, but this one is really great value and a good prize that will actually help whoever wins it improve their business and thats a GREAT reason to enter so I took action.

What I need to learn most of all is the smaller tweaks and tips that turn a standard installation into a super powered setup. That plus using it for more advanced things, i.e. not just a blog.

Its a great time saving tool so its good to use it for more than one thing in your business to save you or your team time!

Anyway, great competition Matt and good luck to everyone, Im sure you will get LOADS of people entering for this.

Hey Matt,

Firstly, thanks for doing this and putting up some great prizes!
Here are my answers:

1. I think I should win as I would love to have the knowledge to be able to build mine, and other peoples Blog’s into a top quality site that looks great, and offers everything a reader might want while visiting a blog. To be able to know how to do some of the intricate things you teach on your WordPress classroom videos is valuable knowledge to have, and can really turn a Blog into something special.

2. I would love to know more about php coding and how to add things like banners and videos into side bars and how to change headers.

Cheers for doing this Matt!

Hi Matthew,

First let me tell you a little about myself, My name is Savio Lopez, happily married for the last 4 years. I live with my beautiful wife and my sweet 2 year old girl in India, in a small state called Goa along the west coast. My wife and I work as SEO VA?s from home.

#1. I need to win this contest because I have full confidence in myself that with this help you are offering, I can make one great blog that I have been longing to start for so long. I also know it?s a great way to earn a passive income which will solve a lot of my financial obstacles.

#2. I have done a lot of research on WP and actually know quite a bit, but, its all in bits and pieces of one big puzzle. My biggest challenge would be to solve this puzzle. Some of it has already been solved by your free tutorials at the wordpress classroom and I look forward to enhance my knowledge of WP.

All the best to all competing.

Hi Matt,

Thank you for setting up your free wordpress classroom, it has been a very good help for me. I love the way you communicate, each video is shor and straight to the point. I can follow it without any problem.

Answer for your questions:
1. I want to write a honest review about your wordpress classroom pro and promote it. In order for me to write the review I have to see what you value you’ve provided. Personal reasons are, I must get the Internet marketing working otherwise I’ll be broke. This is my whole focus. Currenly my expenses is great then my income. So I have to have another income stream to support it. Moreover I’m expecting a baby on the way. To be a good father and provider for my wife, I need success so much. I want to learn all the things about wordpress to make money online.

2. I just start my blog a month ago, so I would like to learn more about how to attract customer, generate more backlink to my blog automatically. Learn how to customize the code of WP theme.

I have lot’s of knowledge and experience to contribute to the internet world. I have and believe will continue have positive impact on people’s lives. I only promote products that I believe are beneficial to the consumer.

It’s true that treating your neighbor as yourself law works. If you sow good seeds then good seeds come back to you. This means we reap what we sow. So in reality I’m a big believer for good karma.

This is the reason why I would benefit from your FREE video course because of making a positive impact on consumer’s decisions.

My question for wordpress site would be on how to set it like a static html site instead of a blog looking site?

David July 30, 2009 Reply

Hi Matt

If all the videos you have got planned are as good as the ones I have seen so far, then having access to the whole series is going to be a MUST!

Why should I win?

Answer:
I want to win because why pay when there is a free prize to be had? By the way, if I do win lifetime access to the WordPress Classroom Pro, that by itself will be sufficient. Therefore, I will let you donate the $50 prize to your favourite charity.

What is it about WordPress that I want to learn?

Answer:
I have just installed my blog using the Flexibility Theme. I need a guide to using this theme as it offers a lot and I need to know how to configure my widgets and plugins and generally lay things out.
The other and probably the most important task I need to know about WordPress is; how to make a back up of my WordPress site and how to recover when things go wrong.

I look forward to your notification in the post very soon.

All the best with this venture as you are on to a winner!

Regards
David

P.S. you make using Camtasia/CamStudio look so simple, a video series on how you do it will go down well with your students.

Matt,

Pick me and I will do a full blown review off you new product on mysite including an interview if your available. Plus if you have me do build my passive income mywife could quit her job and go back to being a full time stay at home Mom to my 3 wonderful kids.

I still trying to understand seo, but don’t want to have to learn a ton, I would love to see someone do a seo in 10 minutes type video as most of what I seen is way to complex or vague. Another thing I been having trouble with is getting a podcast plugin to work.

Good luck on your launch even if you don’t pick me tweet me if you up for an interview. I am looking to do some next month and you success seems like it would make a good story.

Hi Matt,

1) I think I should win in order to learn more and to be able to help more;
2) I’m new to WordPress so I’ve struggled with most everything. But at the moment my main concern is that I’m trying to add images to my blog but I end up messing up the layout of the top sidebar and even loosing what I have there.

Thanks,

Hi Matt
Great competition bro
Your first version of this was great and taught me so much very quickly. Why should i win the free membership because i know that blogging and adding value is the greatest tool me have now in the new world of social marketing. Having the ability in any niche to create value in a blog and them moneytise certain aspects of it are now essential.I want to be able to show others to be a success online. To do this i will need to know the basics.

My biggest challenge is two things , how do you subtley monetise a blog without ugly popups and adsense adds.
And how do you drive traffic to your blog or house as Pery Belcher calls it.

richard

Don’t worry, I wont quit. i would love to win your contest, because as a newbie to blogs and network marketing, after seeing the quality of content and great instructional value you are offering, I know it will really help my efforts to succeed in this business.

Sorry,
To answer what I would like to learn is SEO and keywords for my blog

Hey !Hey Mat !
How are you doing Bro …?
Don’t answer that because I can see for myself …lol

You’re doing Awesome..!!
Hey Mat ..I don’t think I’ve got a dog’s chance of winning this competition …but I might have with one that Dean holland is running at the moment on the “Starting with marketing Academy”.

He’s running a “Traffic Tanks” competition and the winner will be whoever gets the most amount of traffic to their blog in the next 2 weeks…people leaving comments and stuff.

Now would it be “fair” if I was to get some traffic from the Guy’s on Alex’s class to come over to my blog and leave a comment…??

As you know I am also in Alex’s class as well as being in Dean’s … so would it be “Fair” if I got some help off you and the other guy’s.lol

Cheers Mat.!!

Hello Matt

Jenny here from the UK. A while ago I downloaded your WordPress Classroom videos. It is only today that I have had a real chance to look at them. It has taken me the best part of 3 and half hours, which includes making lots of notes (12 pages in total) just so that I can refer to things as I go along. You have opened a whole new world to me regarding WordPress. I have been looking everywhere for information on how to make and monetize a WordPress blog. You have given me so much inspiration. I work full time+ (50 hours per week starting at 0600 hours every day and a full 10 hour Saturday in a job that I cannot stand, with colleagues I would rather not have much to do with. all for a measly £320 take home per week. I have been looking online now for 8 months plus for opportunities and I came across your site. This weekend I am going to put together a WordPress blog as tutored by yourself. Host it and hopefully promote WordPress Classroom itself. I know that I can do this, I just needed the know how and you have helped me understand this more than anybody else online. I shall keep you informed of my progress. Heres to the future and hopefully financial freedom in the years to come.
